Royal Parks:
You have the option to run in three Royal Parks:
River Thames:
The River Thames that runs through southwest London from the north to the south. You can run on the Thames Path the whole of the way and is obviously how we came up with our events name. You can run along the Thames Path from Putney/ Fulham to Weybridge and cross only 2 roads (Kingston and Hampton Court Bridge)!
Southwest London and Surrey parkruns:
parkrun was founded in Southwest London by Paul Sinten-Hewitt in 2004 and has grown to over 2,000 locations in 22 countries across six continents! There are 11 parkruns in Southwest London and 3 junior parkruns. Click here to find all the local parkrun in Southwest London and Surrey.
Did you know Southwest London is the epicentre of British running history? It was the birthplace of the London Marathon and parkrun. Mo Farah was finely tuned up as an Olympic gold machine at St Mary’s University and even the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Kingston Upon Thames played a part in raising the Olympic spirit going into the London 2012, celebrating ‘100 days to go’ and the Olympic Torch relay.
