River Thames Running’s flagship event celebrates its 11th year in 2024. One of South West London’s major running events, the original Hampton Court Half Marathon is highly rated as preparation for a Spring marathon or a major distance race in its own right. The 2024 race takes place 7 weeks before the Brighton Marathon  and 9 weeks before the TCS London Marathon, making it an ideal target race in the training build up to these events.

This is the original Hampton Court Half Marathon and is run over a fast, flat and visually interesting course that borders the river-side grounds of the magnificent Hampton Court Palace to the South West of London. King Henry VIII  and his Tudor entourage will be there to cheer everyone on!

Runners enjoy an initial closed road loop around the picturesque village of Thames Ditton, pass through historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames ancient marketplace, follow the iconic 3 mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames, and reach the magnificent Hampton Court Palace after 10 miles. The route follows closed roads, pavement, pedestrian/cycle track, riverside way, and tarmac paths through parks and is well recognised for its PB potential.

All finishers will receive a top tech tee and our super finisher running mug once crossing the finish line.
